The Boulton Bugle

This is the 6th mobile I’ve had for trial and it’s the Nokia E75 – I had quite high hopes for this phone before receiving it and to be honest, it’s been a bit of a disappointment, having said that there are some things that I do like about it so here goes……
The E75 I received came in an attractive copper brown colour not the black as in the photo, the handset is a good weight and feels comfortable to hold.  I do like the fact that it comes with two keyboards, something a few other mobiles DO have but not that many, both the traditional kind underneath the screen and a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard which unlike the keyboard on the N97 Mini I previously trialled the keys are not raised or spaced out but this is not a problem as it’s still an excellent keyboard to use for texting.  However I would have like to have seen a separate dedicated row of number keys as accessing those is a little tricky.
Even though I’ve already said I like the way the phone feels and the keyboard, I don’t personally like the way it looks, in my opinion there are more attractive looking Nokias out there for sure.  There also don’t seem to be as many applications or features on the E75 as there are on other Nokia handsets but one feature I did notice that I thought was rather useful was a full English dictionary, never seem that on a mobile before!
The web browser is the standard Nokia web browser, good and easy to use – I did find however that sites did take a while to load sometimes but this was probably the network rather than the browser.
The camera on the E75 is a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus affair, as you’d expect from a camera of this spec it produces good quality images, however compared to other 3.2 megapixel phone cameras I’ve used the images don’t seem to have the same clarity and sharpness but it’s still a good camera for everyday use.
To sum up, I am grateful as always to the folks at WOMWorld/Nokia for the chance to trial the E75 but overall was rather disappointed with it and personally would not buy one.
